HR professionals make decisions every day that balance the company’s business objectives and the needs of its employees. Miscalculating this balance creates legal risk or causes business leaders to perceive HR as an obstacle. This discussion will explore this balance and provide strategies by which HR professionals can protect the interests of both employees and employers. The guidance of HR professionals who are knowledgeable in the area of best HR practices, employment law, and a solid understanding of business operations will help companies achieve business results and meet the needs of employees.

Melanie McClure, J .D. focuses her practice on employment law litigation and counseling. Melanie helps employers resolve complex employee relations issues and minimize employment-related claims. She works directly with human resources professionals and executive management to ensure that companies, nonprofit organizations or public entities comply with equal employment opportunity, wage and hour, FMLA and other employment laws. Melanie represents employers at all stages of dispute resolution, through trial and appeal, and helps them manage difficult employments issues in ways that minimize the risks of litigation.
She earned a juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law and is an Adjunct Professor at the Bowen School of Law, Employment Law Section.
Melanie is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association and the Pulaski County Bar Association.
